Jeff Frankenstein, Jody Davis, Duncan Phillips, and Adam Agee of the popular Christian band Newsboys released a statement regarding recent allegations of sexual assault against Michael Tait, the band's former lead vocalist.

Christian music icon Michael Tait, who is known for his singing roles in DC Talk, Newsboys, and Tait, has been accused of grooming and sexually assaulting three men between 2004-2014.

On May 24, Newsboys announced the cancellation of the band's upcoming Canada tour dates. Shows had been scheduled to start on May 31.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, Newsboys lead singer Michael Tait abruptly announced that he was leaving the band after 15 years. Yesterday, the band took to social media to provide an update, describing the past six weeks as "quite a journey."

Newsboys' new lead singer, Adam Agee, has been re-recording vocals of the band’s songs that originally featured Michael Tait.
