The images showed that the shooter allegedly titled one of the pages “Death Day” and indicated how long the assailant had planned to go through with the deadly attack. Another page was titled “Kill those kids” and described the children using explicit language and derogatory hate-speech. The final page showed a detailed itinerary of the aforementioned “Death Day,” which ended with the phrase “Time 2 die.”
‘Remove Brent Leatherwood From the ERLC’—Petition Created
A day after Leatherwood addressed the news media, a petition to remove him as ERLC president was created on change.org by Connor Buckingham.

At the time of this article, the petition has collected 505 of its 1,000-signature goal.
“Brent Leatherwood has continually used his platform as president of the ERLC given to him by the Southern Baptist Convention to push for policies that are against the wishes of those he represents in the SBC,” the petition says. “Leatherwood was a big part of push for red-flag laws and other gun control efforts in the state of Tennessee after the Covenant School shooting took place.”
The petition goes on to say that “Leatherwood also lobbied continually to keep the shooter’s manifesto from the public eye.” The petition then criticizes Leatherwood for calling the person who leaked the manifesto images “a viper” instead of condemning the shooter.

The petition claims that “this is a repeated theme from Leatherwood” and that “he is missing in action for the big fights such as the banning of child mutilation surgeries, but he is ready and willing to attack those who seek to entrust the public with the truth.”
Those who sign the petition are using their voices to encourage “leaders in the SBC and ERLC trustees to remove Leatherwood for abusing his platform and using your tithes and offerings to attack your God given rights,” the petition argues.
“PLEASE ONLY SIGN THIS FORM IF YOU ARE A PASTOR OF OR ATTEND AN SBC AFFILIATED CHURCH,” the petition’s creator asks so that the signatures gathered are only from “believers who directly fund the ERLC so our cause can be taken with the seriousness it deserves.”
